Summer School Holidays Adventure Weeks

Adventure weeks are back for 2026!

Come and join us for 4/5 days of fun and adventure in the school holidays. Make new friends whilst enjoying time on (and even in) the water and on land completing the wide range of exciting activities our instructors have in store.

£300 per person for the 4-day option or £375pp for the 5-day, with times of 09:00 - 15:00 each day

Course dates:

7 – 10 April (4 days)

26 – 29 May (4 days)

3 – 7 August (5 days)

17 – 21 August (5 days)

Minimum age 8 years, maximum age 14 years.

All participants must bring their own nut-free packed lunch, drinks and snacks, as lunch is not provided. Participants must be able to take on/off a wetsuit unassisted

2026 School Holiday Royal Yachting Association (RYA) young people's sailing courses

Join the Mount Batten Centre for either a 5-day RYA youth sailing scheme stage 1- 2 course, or if you've previously completed your Stage 2 join a Stage 3 course in 2026!

RYA Youth Sailing Stage 1&2 (course times 09:00 - 16:00)

This 5-day course provides an accredited introduction to the fantastic sport of sailing in Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City

No previous experience is required to join this course, in which you will learn the key parts of the boat, how to sail and even a gentle introduction to racing in Plymouth Sound!

£415 per person

Pre-requisites: Minimum age 8 years - maximum 15 years. Participants must be able to take on/off a wetsuit unassisted and be water-confident

Course dates:

27 – 31 July, 3 – 7 Aug, 10 – 14 Aug, 17 – 21 Aug, 24 – 28 Aug

RYA Youth Sailing Stage 3 (course times 09:00 - 16:00)

Join our Royal Yachting Association Stage 3 Course and progress your child's dinghy sailing skills and experiences in the stunning Plymouth Sound!

On successfully completing a stage 3 course the young sailor can make independent decisions as a choice of course, sail setting, dagger board adjustment and can be well on the pathway to be coming an independent sailor.   They will be able to sail upwind, downwind, around a triangular course and even a short introduction to racing and dinghy cruising as we explore the different beaches and tidal estuaries of Plymouth Sound.

£415 per person

Pre-requisites: Completed RYA Youth Stage 1 and 2, Participants must be able to take on/off a wetsuit unassisted and be water-confident

Course dates: 17 – 21 Aug , 24 – 28 Aug

Please note for all RYA Youth Sailing courses packed lunches are not provided, participants must provide their own nut-free packed lunch in a sealed and labelled "tupperware" style container, as well sunhat/suncream/drinks bottle.  All sailing equipment and instruction plus all wetsuits, buoyancy aids and spray tops are provided. Course times are 0900 - 1600 with full instructional supervision throughout these times
